A small weekend rumor that remains plausible: an employee of the US retailer GameStop posted an updated listing of upcoming PS Vita games via NeoGaf. Among them, we notice the sudden appearance of a certain
Tales of Heart, scheduled for "January 1, 2015." This date is probably a placeholder used instead of a vague 2015 release window.
Let's remember that this entry was released in Japan in March 2013, one year after
Tales of Innocence R (which was never announced for the West).
Tales Of Hearts R is a remake of
Tales Of Hearts, released in Japan in 2008 for the Nintendo DS.
Developed for the PS Vita, this remake contains plenty of additional content, including costumes, side quests and playable characters.
The game has also received a complete visual overhaul and now features high-definition graphics and cutscenes.
The combat system has been revised and improved, and includes a new battle mode called the Chase Link System, based on aerial combos.
The move that triggers this combo chain is called Chade Cross, and thanks to it, the protagonists can send their enemies flying into the air before finishing them off with unstoppable techniques known as Chase Finishers.
Shing Meteoryte is a young man of around fifteen who lives with his grandfather in a small village called Seeble.
His life is completely ordinary, but it changes abruptly when he meets
Hisui and
Kohaku Hearts.
Hisui and
Kohaku are traveling adventurers searching for powerful "Soma," spiritual weapons with impressive abilities.
Their many journeys bring them to the village of
Seeble, where the two young travelers are attacked by a witch called
Incarros.
Our two young heroes are quickly aided by
Shing and his grandfather.

Unable to repel our heroes' attacks,
Incaros flees. During her escape, however, the witch shatters
Kohaku's soul into a thousand pieces and scatters each fragment of her spirit across the world.
She also kills
Zex,
Shing's grandfather.

Feeling guilty about what happened to his grandfather and to
Kohaku's soul,
Shing decides to accompany
Hisui in order to recover his sister's soul and avenge
Zex.
He reveals to
Hisui that he, too, can wield a
Soma called Asteria.
During his quest,
Shing will learn more about his origins and face many trials alongside his companions.
