Famitsu had promised something big for its special Pokémon livestream today, and it did not disappoint: the long-rumored Pokkén Tournament has officially been announced, more than a year after the first leaks. This unlikely crossover between Tekken and Pokémon will launch on Japanese arcade machines sometime in 2015, ahead of a possible console port.
Proof that the project is being taken seriously, it is supervised by Katsuhiro Harada and Masaaki Hoshino, the respective producers of Tekken and SoulCalibur. The game has also been showcased in a video featuring an epic battle between Lucario and Machamp. In the meantime, the game's official website is now online, although be warned: it is in Japanese!
