NIS America is pleased to announce that its episodic action-stealth game République will be available on PlayStation 4 on March 25, 2016! GungHo Online Entertainment America is publishing the PS4 version of the game in North America.
About the game:
Now that République has been announced for PS4, players will finally be able to take control of Hope, a young woman held captive in Metamorphosis, a dark totalitarian state ruled by the ever-present Overseer. By hacking into the government's secret surveillance network, players and Hope begin a dangerous but thrilling journey to freedom. Seattle-based studio Camouflaj developed the game and received numerous awards, including the "
Excellence in Storytelling" award from the International Mobile Gaming Awards (IMGA). With an 87% user score on Steam, République has received a very positive reception. Although it has previously been available only on PC and mobile devices, the game will now be accessible to PS4 players, who will discover the complete season, including the fifth and final episode.
Features:
- Hacking – Throughout the game, Hope will need the player's help to guide and protect her by taking control of network devices and solving the puzzles blocking her path. The player hacks security cameras, turns off the lights, listens in on communications, controls elevators and closes doors on Hope's pursuers.
- A compelling story – République is more than just an action-stealth game. The gameplay system strengthens the relationship between Hope and the player, her protector. In addition to the main story, players can help Hope collect books, tapes and other forbidden items that deepen their immersion in this futuristic dystopian world.
- A veteran studio – République was developed by industry veterans who worked on AAA games such as Metal Gear Solid, Halo and F.E.A.R., as well as videos including Skyrim's TV spot and the famous iPod "silhouette" advertisements. Interactive developer commentary will be available within the game itself.
