Use the power of the Demon Hand to explore a vast open world and defeat hordes of dangerous demons on PlayStation4, PlayStationVita and PC via Steam
Following an event known as the Awakening, during which demons ravaged the world, a group of Slayers—the protectors of humanity—organizes the defense of the city of Yokohama and repels the Oni armies. During this fierce battle, a gigantic demon appears and opens a portal that swallows an isolated Slayer. Ten years later, with no memory of the past, this Slayer awakens in the village of Mahoroba. Toukiden 2 lets players take on the role of this mysterious Slayer, accompanied by several charismatic characters: Hakase, a professor seeking to uncover the truth about the world; Tokitsugu, a Machina possessed by a human soul; Gwen, a young British Slayer and expert swordswoman and shield bearer; Benizuki, a big-hearted man considered the village's most powerful Slayer; and Homura, a former thief turned Slayer who wields a chain whip.
The ingenious professor has built a unique machine that allows Slayers to project a physical manifestation of their thoughts: the Demon Hand. With this strange device, players can grab onto enemies and launch themselves into the air to strike them, as well as perform offensive dodges that slam Oni to the ground. The Demon Hand is not only useful in combat: it also facilitates exploration of the game's vast open world, the Otherworld. Access to certain areas may be blocked or out of reach, but by using the Demon Hand to launch Oni, players can destroy obstacles or use the Demon Hand as a grappling hook to reach inaccessible ledges.
In addition to the monsters threatening humanity, the world of Toukiden 2 is also home to creatures that help players. You can collect materials to improve your weapons and armor by sending Machina out on expeditions. By upgrading and repairing these robotic companions, you can even obtain rarer materials in greater quantities, allowing you to craft better equipment at the forge. The adorable Tenko also return in Toukiden 2, and you can rescue them while exploring the Otherworld. Once the Tenko have been saved, you can take care of them, and when the bond between a Slayer and their Tenko is strong enough, they can set out together on missions in the Otherworld.
Players who pre-order Toukiden 2 from certain retailers will receive a "Tenko Costume" armor set, allowing Slayers to dress up like their small companions, along with the "Sanada Masayuki", "Sanada Noboyuki", "Sarutobi Sasuke" and "Chiku Rin In" Mitamas, which can improve their skills and abilities. The list of retailers will be announced at a later date.
KOEI Tecmo Europe is pleased to announce that Toukiden 2, the sequel to the popular demon-hunting RPG Toukiden, will be available in Europe from March 24, 2017, for PlayStation4, PlayStationVita and PC via Steam. A new explosive trailer has been unveiled, along with new screenshots showcasing the powerful Demon Hand, the village of Mahoroba and some of the new characters who will support players in their quest.
