ARK: Survival Evolved

Studio Wildcard announced yesterday that version 1.0 of its famous dinosaur survival game ARK: Survival Evolved was now available as a physical retail release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC! Since its Early Access launch on Steam in June 2015, more than 10 million survivors have washed up on the island of ARK. There, they discovered an incredible land and learned how to tame, train, ride and breed more than 100 dinosaurs and prehistoric creatures. Today, the mysterious island reveals its true nature to veteran players and newcomers alike!

The version available since yesterday includes new content, including

• Orchestral soundtrack: composer Gareth Coker (Minecraft, Ori and the Blind Forest) recorded the game's music at Abbey Road Studios in London with the renowned Philharmonia Orchestra. An impressive and varied composition that brings every element of the game to life, from the beach, mountains, jungles, desert and caves to epic boss battles and ARK's incredible sci-fi ending.
• Ragnarok DLC: a free additional map created by members of ARK's modding community. This gigantic map is available today on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One! The 144 km² island features unique biomes and new creatures, including the Griffin and its diving attack!
• Storyline: players will gain a better understanding of where they are, why they are there and what ARK really is.
• Endgame content: hunt down the final boss and win the battle alongside the other survivors and your dinosaur army!
• Two new creatures:
  • Otter - This friendly creature, found in the island's many waterways, will enjoy traveling on your shoulder and keep you warm. It is the only creature in ARK capable of gathering those highly valuable black pearls!
  • Phoenix - Available exclusively in the ARK Scorched Earth expansion pack, this mythical creature appears during extreme heat waves and can set its targets on fire with a single bite if provoked!
• Numerous bug fixes and various improvements for a smoother gameplay experience.

For the occasion, renowned YouTuber Furious Jumper, an ARK: Survival Evolved specialist, has published a tutorial dedicated to the game, so that newcomers and experienced players alike can quickly and easily get to grips with it. Using Unreal Engine 4, ARK: Survival Evolved is a unique blend of cooperative survival and adventure, as well as competition against other players. With no memories—and no clothes—the player character in ARK wakes up on the beach of a mysterious island. To survive, they must hunt, farm, gather resources and craft tools. Players can build shelter to protect themselves from the weather, as well as from the island's creatures and other players. More than 100 different dinosaurs and other prehistoric creatures, some of them gargantuan in size, are waiting to be tamed, fed and trained by players. Whether you are flying on the back of a pteranodon over snow-covered mountains, hunting in the jungle with your velociraptors, watching your convoy of brontosaurs pass a fortress built by enemy players, or charging into battle on the back of your Tyrannosaurus rex, the only limits are those of your imagination!
