Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon
Starter Pokémon Evolutions and Special Demo Version
3DS [ Nintendo ]
New Pokémon, features, a Special Demo Version, and Mega Evolutions revealed for the upcoming Pokémon games
The Pokémon Company International and Nintendo have revealed new information about the latest games in the Pokémon franchise, Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon, which are scheduled for release in Europe on November 23, exclusively for consoles in the Nintendo 3DS family.
Three evolved forms of the starter Pokémon—Dartrix, Torracat, and Primarina—have been revealed:
Dartrix
Type: Grass/FlyingDartrix, the Blade Quill Pokémon, is the evolved form of Rowlet. Dartrix attacks by launching its razor-sharp feathers like blades. This Pokémon can detect enemies standing behind it and strike them with its feathers without even turning around, thanks to its keen senses. It is nevertheless very concerned with its appearance and often preens its feathers.
Torracat
Type: FireTorracat, the Fire Cat Pokémon, is the evolved form of Litten. A bell-shaped pouch attached to the base of its neck produces the flames it needs to attack. It also loves to battle and never backs down! Even in the darkness, its wild mane allows it to sense what is happening around it and detect hidden enemies.
Primarina
Type: WaterPrimarina, the Soloist Pokémon, is the evolved form of Popplio. It can dance in perfect harmony with anyone, which may explain why it is always in an excellent mood. It learns to dance by imitating the other members of its colony and can sometimes even learn human dances. Its choreographed movements create balloons that it propels through the air to attack its opponents.

In Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon, all communication features are brought together in the brand-new Festival Plaza. You will be able to meet other players, whether they are nearby or connected to the Internet, battle them, or trade with them. By talking to these people and listening to their requests in Festival Plaza, you will receive Festival Coins, which you can spend at various stands, each cooler than the last: Dye Shops, the Gift Shop (which sells rare items), and even Battle Royales where you can train your Pokémon! As you accumulate Festival Coins, your Festival Plaza rank will increase, bringing rewards and new activities. You will gain the ability to organize missions, in which many players can work together to achieve different objectives.
Another new feature has been announced: Poké Pelago. This is an archipelago that the Pokémon in your PC Boxes can explore. The more Pokémon you send there, the more numerous and varied the activities you can develop. By discovering and improving these islands, you can obtain new items and train your Pokémon.
Mega Evolution is also making a comeback! All Pokémon that could Mega Evolve in previous titles in the series will also be able to Mega Evolve in Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon. The Mega Stones required for Mega Evolution can be obtained from certain characters in the game or purchased in special shops.

The Pokémon Global Link will be updated for Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon and will be available when the games are released. The PGL website will include new features, such as Online Competitions and missions. The Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon Special Demo Version has also been revealed! It will be available to download directly from Nintendo's official website starting October 18. It will introduce players to the Alola region and Ash-Greninja, the Greninja that appears alongside Ash in the Pokémon the Series: XYZ animated series. It will be possible to transfer your Ash-Greninja from the Special Demo Version to the full game after its release on November 23.
