Northgard: the Viking strategy game in Early Access

Shiro Games, the creators of Evoland, present their new Nordic fantasy management game in a new video

Developed by renowned French independent studio Shiro Games (Evoland 1 & 2), Northgard gives players the opportunity to take control of a Viking clan stranded on hostile, unknown shores. After establishing their village, they must gather the resources needed to grow, develop and overcome the obstacles in their path. In their quest to conquer this new and mysterious world, the clans will have to face undead warriors, giants, dragons and other creatures while surviving in fearsome environments.

Northgard's Early Access allows players to

• Establish their colony in Northgard's hostile new world by assigning and directing their Vikings to different roles (merchant, farmer, warrior, sailor, loremaster…).
• Carefully manage their resources in order to survive harsh winters and fierce enemies.
• Discover and seize new territories with unique strategic opportunities.
• Triumph over their enemies through different victory conditions, such as conquest, glory, knowledge or trade.

"We have always been fans of strategy and simulation games. With Northgard, we took what we believe to be the best of both genres and added fantasy and Vikings to the mix," says Nicolas Cannasse, co-founder of Shiro Games. "Launching in Early Access will allow us to gather players' feedback directly, which we can then use to refine the game's development. We will also be adding many new features over the coming months, including new playable clans and a campaign mode." Shiro Games will continue developing Northgard throughout its Early Access period. Planned content and features include a dedicated multiplayer mode, a campaign mode, two new playable clans, a diplomatic system and new victory conditions. Shiro Games today announced the Early Access release of Northgard, its new Viking strategy game. Inspired by Norse mythology and offering a unique blend of exploration, village building and combat, the game is available in French for PC on Steam for €19.99.
