Players of Call of Duty: WWII on Xbox One and PC can now join the ranks of the Resistance. Published by Activision, the game's first major expansion pack, titled The Resistance, is now available on all platforms, following its initial launch on PlayStation 4. This DLC offers a substantial amount of content that pays tribute to the citizen soldiers who fought for freedom during World War II. The program includes iconic new battlefields, from Paris to Prague.

Three new multiplayer maps examined

The competitive experience is expanded with environments designed for every play style:

Valkyrie: Set in the forests of East Prussia, this medium-sized map is inspired by the infamous Wolf's Lair. The action centers on a deadly main lane dominated by strategic elevated positions housing machine-gun nests.
Anthropoid: Head into the streets of Prague in Czechoslovakia. Inspired by the real-life assassination attempt against a senior German official, this map features a main artery crossed by a river. Its two side lanes will delight fans of long-range sniper battles.
Occupation: This is a masterful reworking of a classic map beloved by the community. In Paris under the Occupation, the long streets encourage medium-range firefights, while the shops and apartments are perfect for setting ambushes or holding a defensive position.

New War Mode and Nazi Zombies story

Beyond classic multiplayer, The Resistance offers two intense narrative and cooperative experiences:

Operation Intercept (War Mode): Head to the area around Saint-Lô for a thrilling rescue mission. The Allies must free Resistance members about to be deported, destroy the enemy's communications equipment and stop the train from departing.
The Darkest Shore (Nazi Zombies): The horror continues several days after the disaster at Mittelburg. Marie, Drostan, Olivia and Jefferson arrive on a fog-shrouded island off northern Germany to hunt down Doktor Straub. Prepare to face a naval and aerial army—and, above all, hordes of the undead.

As fans of competitive shooters, we particularly welcome the return of the "Occupation" map, which offers impeccable level design for zone control and team rotations. The attention paid to the historical setting, combined with the fast-paced action that defines the franchise, makes this first DLC a solid addition for extending the game's online lifespan.
