Derelikt: announced for November 13 on PS5 and PC, demo available on Steam

By Filo · · 4 min read
Update: November 7, 2026. The space horror game Derelikt is targeting November 13 on PS5 and PC. Its creator announced the date on the PlayStation Blog, and the Steam page lists the same date for PC. A demo is already available on Steam. However, one point remains to be monitored: the PlayStation Store page we consulted still displays a release date to be determined. What is Derelikt's release date on PS5 and PC?

In a presentation published on November 2 on the PlayStation Blog, Philipp Jensen, creator of Derelikt, announced a PS5 release on November 13, 2026. The game's Steam page also lists November 13 for the PC version and identifies Visuwyg as the developer and Hyperstrange as the publisher. The PlayStation Store page confirms that a PS5 version exists, but still displayed "release date to be determined" when we checked it on November 7. This difference between the creator's announcement and the store listing warrants another check before publishing or purchasing. We do not infer release dates for other consoles from these three sources.

A confined setting on an asteroid near Saturn

The story takes place at the Von Neumann Outpost, a station installed on an asteroid in Saturn's orbit. The protagonist arrives as an outside contractor to find the missing Delta excavation team. According to the creator's presentation, the investigation leads through malfunctioning corridors, survivors with conflicting accounts and hostile encounters. The studio describes a mix of first-person shooting, exploration, ammunition and inventory management, dialogue and puzzles. The PlayStation Store page also mentions more than a dozen characters present in the station. On paper, the game therefore aims for tension driven by resources and uncertainty, rather than a simple succession of battles. This is the direction announced by its creators, not a conclusion drawn from testing. Game.fr editorial illustration of a retro space-station corridor. Why does it have a PS1-era game aesthetic?

Philipp Jensen explains that he wanted to recreate the look of a game from the late 1990s. He mentions hand-painted textures, vertex-color lighting, deliberately distorted textures and CGI cutscenes. An option would reportedly allow players to adjust certain visual effects. These technical choices are described in the creator's post; we have not verified how they look on PS5 or PC.

The Steam demo is available, but the game was not tested here

The Steam page offers a PC demo ahead of the announced release. It currently lists English for the interface, voice acting and subtitles; no French support appeared when we checked it. This information concerns the PC listing at that date and may change. To get an idea of the pacing, the readability of the retro style and the role of exploration, the demo is the first thing to examine for yourself. Game.fr does not present this article as a review: we have not played the demo or measured the game's performance. Before purchasing on PS5, you should also check the date and local information directly on the PlayStation Store. Key points: November 13 was announced by the creator for PS5 and is listed on Steam for PC; the PC demo is available; the PlayStation Store page had not yet reflected a firm date when we checked it.
