TGS 2026 Day 2: Lollipop Chainsaw 2, SophieChat:AI, Attack on Titan 3… All the Announcements from September 18

By Filo · · 21 min read

Tokyo Game Show 2026 wrapped up its second day this Friday, September 18, at Makuhari Messe in Chiba. After Day 1 was dominated by the Xbox Tokyo Game Show Broadcast, this second Business Day focused primarily on the SEGA / ATLUS, Koei Tecmo and Konami partner stages. Among the main genuinely new reveals on September 18 were the first gameplay footage of LOLLIPOP CHAINSAW 2 Back2Back, the surprise announcement of SophieChat:AI, new systems for Attack on Titan 3, three new sequences from Stranger Than Heaven and several details on RD: Remote Deduction, Sugar Lies and ONI Zero: Revival Reboot.

This page is our final recap of TGS 2026 Day 2. To avoid artificially inflating the announcement list, Game.fr distinguishes September 18 reveals from information already unveiled the previous day, such as the Japan map for Crazy Taxi: World Tour, the cast of PHYSINT and certain details about Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember.

To follow the event from the beginning, also check out all the TGS 2026 Day 1 announcements and our complete Tokyo Game Show 2026 guide.

1. TGS 2026 Day 2: the essentials at a glance

Friday, September 18, was the second and final Business Day of Tokyo Game Show 2026. The show was open to industry professionals from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Japan, before opening to the general public from Saturday, September 19.

Takeaway: Day 2 had fewer world premieres than the previous day’s Xbox broadcast, but it delivered several concrete updates on previously announced games, as well as a genuine new reveal with SophieChat:AI.

2. Lollipop Chainsaw 2 Back2Back reveals its first gameplay footage

The stage dedicated to the new Lollipop Chainsaw was one of the day’s most visible events. LOLLIPOP CHAINSAW 2 Back2Back is a full new entry in the series, with Juliet returning as its heroine.

Official replay of the SEGA / ATLUS Fan Time SHOW – Day 2. The Lollipop Chainsaw stage begins at around 11:40 a.m. JST. Watch the video on YouTube.

An important point for the timeline: the official title, PlayStation 5 version and 2027 release window had already been announced on September 17 by Dragami Games. The real Day 2 news was therefore the presentation of first gameplay footage through a TGS teaser showing Juliet fighting zombies, along with the team’s comments on the project’s design.

The developers explained that they wanted to preserve immediately accessible controls and the series’ signature blend of action, pop colors and dark humor. A playable version is also available at TGS 2026, offering a closer look at the foundations of the combat system.

In the demonstration shown at the event, Juliet can combine quick attacks, more powerful chainsaw attacks, charge a weapon-related gauge and use a rapid chainsaw movement. These elements offer an initial idea of the gameplay direction, but do not yet amount to a complete presentation of every system in the game.

What is confirmed: LOLLIPOP CHAINSAW 2 Back2Back is planned for PS5 in 2027. No definitive long-term exclusivity or additional platform should be inferred until further announcements are made.

3. SophieChat:AI announced by surprise, while RyzaChat:AI prepares new modes

SophieChat:AI: the genuine new announcement from the Koei Tecmo stage

The RyzaChat:AI stage at Koei Tecmo delivered a surprise with the announcement of SophieChat:AI. The project adopts the conversational RPG formula of RyzaChat:AI, this time applying it to the world of Sophie’s Atelier 2: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Dream.

Official Koei Tecmo replay from September 18: SophieChat:AI is unveiled during the RyzaChat:AI stage. Watch the video on YouTube.

The concept is to progress through conversations with Sophie: exchanges can lead to travel, alchemy or battles in a structure presented as a free-form story-driven conversational RPG. Pre-registration opened on September 18, 2026.

The illustrations are produced under the supervision of NOCO. SpiralAI says the visual assets are created by human artists, while AI is used for text and voice synthesis. The voice is based on recordings made especially for the application by Yuka Aisaka, Sophie’s Japanese voice actor.

The stage also showed several outfits, including a swimsuit and a rabbit-ear costume. No definitive launch date has been announced, so the project should still be described as “in development.”

RyzaChat:AI: skins, multiplayer and travel in Japan under consideration

The program was not devoted solely to Sophie. RyzaChat:AI will receive several new skins inspired by historical Ryza illustrations, including a Chinese outfit and seasonal costumes planned for the coming months.

Two ideas are also being considered, without being announced as guaranteed features at this stage: a multiplayer mode for up to four people and a provisional “Travel Mode” that would add a map of Japan for virtual trips with Ryza.

The phrase “under consideration” is important: these two features were mentioned as development possibilities and should not be presented as already available.

4. Attack on Titan 3 details its interactions, quests and save bonus

Koei Tecmo devoted its second major Day 2 stage to Attack on Titan 3. The presentation mainly detailed life at headquarters and several systems complementing the battles against the Titans.

The game will let players talk with members of the Scout Regiment and give them gifts. Certain characters, including Hange, can also be invited into the protagonist’s room. Dialogue choices will extend some conversations, with specific voiced reactions.

The stage also presented “consultations,” character quests with their own narrative dimension. One example showed Levi inviting the protagonist to join an expedition beyond the walls.

Another detailed mechanic was meals. They increase affinity with characters and can also temporarily strengthen the squad before a mission. Players will be able to share a meal with Levi, among others.

A bonus for Attack on Titan 2 save data

The September 18 presentation also revealed the save-link bonus. Players with save data from Attack on Titan 2 or Attack on Titan 2: Final Battle on compatible hardware will see a companion bearing the same name as their former protagonist and possessing a special skill appear in their unit. The name can then be changed.

However, the release date is not a Day 2 announcement: Attack on Titan 3 was already scheduled for December 10, 2026 on Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam.

5. Stranger Than Heaven shows three new sequences at TGS

The Stranger Than Heaven stage at the SEGA / ATLUS booth offered a look at three previously unseen gameplay sequences.

Official SEGA / ATLUS Day 2 replay, with the Stranger Than Heaven segment scheduled for 3:30 p.m. JST. Watch the video on YouTube.

The first focused on Genzo Iwaki, a character modeled after Japanese actor Bunta Sugawara and voiced by Takashi Ukaji. The second highlighted Masa Hataoka, also voiced by Ukaji and presented as an important character appearing across several eras.

The third video concerned Sueyoshi, voiced by Tsuji Classic and presented as a man close to protagonist Shin Daito. These excerpts reinforce the idea of a story spanning multiple historical periods, but these new scenes should be distinguished from general information already revealed before September 18.

Stranger Than Heaven remains scheduled for January 15, 2027 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.

6. Konami: RD: Remote Deduction, Sugar Lies, Psychic Force 2012 and ONI Zero

Konami did not hold a single major conference comparable to the Xbox Broadcast on September 18. Its Day 2 program consisted of several broadcasts dedicated to partner games.

RD: Remote Deduction: a more detailed demonstration of “desktop suspense”

RD: Remote Deduction received a developer-narrated demonstration with Takemaru Abiko, known in particular for his work on Banshee’s Last Cry. The game is an investigation thriller centered entirely on a computer.

The player takes the role of a man searching for his missing sister in Nagano Prefecture. The investigation uses various digital tools and a fictional search engine called Glome. The team explained that it had revised the experience based on feedback from the previous presentation to make it more accessible and smoother.

September 18 therefore mainly brought an in-depth gameplay presentation, rather than the project’s initial announcement.

Sugar Lies reveals its opening theme

The romantic visual novel Sugar Lies used its TGS broadcast to present its opening theme, “True or Lies,” for the first time. It is performed by the two heroines, voiced by Ikumi Hasegawa and Hikaru Iida. The composition is by Raito.

The game tells the story of a young man who hates lies and a young woman who lives by playing roles. The Steam version is planned for late 2026, while the Nintendo Switch version is scheduled for spring 2027.

Psychic Force 2012: a stream on the 18th, but a previously announced port

The Konami program also included an event dedicated to Psychic Force 2012. The port is expected in 2027 on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam.

It should not, however, be counted as a first announcement on September 18: the game’s return had already been communicated before this day. The TGS stream mainly revisited the original game, its development and its music.

ONI Zero: Revival Reboot confirms its release window

Konami’s final major partner program on Friday concerned ONI Zero: Revival Reboot, a new version of the Japanese RPG originally released in 2001.

The stage confirmed a launch window between spring and early summer 2027. The overhaul adapts the screens to a 16:9 format, speeds up combat and adds new music: five battle tracks are planned.

Balance adjustments and new events are also planned. Yoshie Nanbu is returning as the lead character designer and is working to harmonize the appearance of characters from several entries in the series. The team also discussed the possibility of adding an extra episode centered on Gedomaru.

The project is planned for Nintendo Switch.

7. SEGA / ATLUS: Sonic Pico Park, Persona and the other September 18 events

The SEGA / ATLUS booth hosted several other programs during the day, but not all of them represented new announcements.

  • Sonic Pico Park: a special program introduced the game and showed more of it. In the absence of a major product reveal confirmed during the event, it is more accurate to classify it as a TGS presentation rather than a new announcement.

  • Persona: the booth featured DJ performances and events related to Persona 4 Revival. The game’s presence at TGS does not mean that its release date or main features were announced on September 18.

Official Persona 4 Revival trailer published by ATLUS. The release date was already known before Day 2 of TGS. Watch the video on YouTube.
  • SEGA Special DJ Live: these segments were booth entertainment and should not artificially inflate the announcement recap.

This distinction between “shown at TGS” and “announced on September 18” is essential for keeping the recap factually reliable.

8. Timeline warning: what is NOT a Day 2 announcement

Several major pieces of information continued to circulate on September 18, sometimes accompanied by press releases or new publisher posts. They should not, however, be attributed to Day 2.

InformationCorrect timeline
Crazy Taxi: World Tour — Japan mapRevealed during the Xbox Tokyo Game Show Broadcast on September 17. SEGA subsequently published its Japanese press release on the 18th.
PHYSINT — Bill Skarsgård in the lead roleAnnounced during the September 17 Xbox Broadcast with Hideo Kojima.
Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember — March 4, 2027 dateInformation revealed before Day 2. The Koei Tecmo producer stage took place on September 17.
LOLLIPOP CHAINSAW 2 Back2Back — name, PS5 and 2027 windowMade official on September 17. The 18th mainly brought the first gameplay footage and development stage.
Persona 4 Revival — release dateThe date was not announced on September 18; the game had already been dated before this stage.

This corrects a common misunderstanding: the publication of a press release on September 18 does not necessarily mean that the announcement took place that day. For Crazy Taxi: World Tour, for example, SEGA published official news on the 18th, but Xbox confirms that the Japan map was revealed during its September 17 broadcast.
