TGS 2026 Day 3: Silent Hill: Townfall, Monster Hunter, Lollipop Chainsaw… All the September 19 Announcements

Tokyo Game Show 2026 opened its doors to the general public this Saturday, September 19, with a much more feature-packed Day 3 full of demonstrations and new information. Konami showed nearly 50 minutes of Silent Hill: Townfall, Capcom revealed Khezu's return and a new area in Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance, while a live-action Lollipop Chainsaw movie was announced. ATLUS unveiled a new Persona 4 Revival scene featuring Marie, Koei Tecmo confirmed online multiplayer for Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered, and Konami presented Project Zircon gameplay for the first time. For the other major project in the franchise, our Silent Hill 1 Remake feature covers Bloober Team's return to the 1999 game.

This page only brings together the information that was genuinely new on September 19. Titles already covered in detail during Days 1 and 2, such as Crazy Taxi: World Tour and Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember, are not artificially presented as new announcements when they only received another demonstration. 2. Silent Hill: Townfall shows nearly 50 minutes of gameplay

The Silent Hill: Townfall stage was among the most important appointments of Day 3. Konami had announced a discussion with series producer Motoi Okamoto, followed by a demonstration narrated by Gatchman.

The presentation ultimately offered around 50 minutes of gameplay. The sequence showed protagonist Simon Odell in St. Amelia, an island shrouded in fog. Several systems could be seen: exploration, puzzle-solving, use of the CRTV device, stealth and combat. The lengthy demonstration also provided an opportunity to hear new Japanese voice acting beyond the trailer shown at the show. The game notably features a Japanese voice cast including Hiroki Yasumoto, Yuko Kaida and Akio Otsuka. Silent Hill: Townfall is still scheduled for September 24, 2026, on PC and PlayStation 5. It is also included in our selection of September 2026 video game releases. This is therefore not a new release date, but the most detailed gameplay presentation shown so far at TGS.

3. Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance: Khezu returns and a new area is revealed

Capcom used its September 19 stage to show Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance gameplay running on a development build different from the playable demo offered to visitors.

Khezu confirmed for the expansion

The demonstration confirmed Khezu's return. The monster was spotted in a cave in the new territory, notably emerging from a wall before launching an electric attack. Its full body was then shown. This appearance is a genuine Day 3 development: Khezu had not yet been confirmed among the monsters in Ascendance.

An unexplored part of the new territory

Capcom also showed a previously unrevealed area of the expansion's new territory, the Kumoi Ruins. The gameplay offered a glimpse of a new endemic creature, Komarimotto, as well as a small monster called Mienmao. In an interview published during TGS, the team also clarified that the expansion's flagship monster has not yet been revealed. The developers further said they intend to offer substantial endgame content at launch. Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance remains scheduled for 2027 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. At this stage, Capcom does not list a Nintendo Switch 2 version in its official expansion announcement.

4. Lollipop Chainsaw: a live-action movie officially announced

The major Lollipop Chainsaw news on Day 3 is not about the game, but the movies. During the official “LOLLIPOP CHAINSAW NEW PROJECT” program, the team announced that a live-action adaptation of the franchise is in development.

The speakers explained that the adaptation came from a desire to develop the intellectual property beyond video games. No cast, director or final release schedule has been announced yet. By contrast, LOLLIPOP CHAINSAW 2 Back2Back had already been officially confirmed before Day 3. Its return to the September 19 schedule therefore mainly represents another presentation of the project, not the game's initial announcement.

5. Persona 4 Revival shows a new scene featuring Marie

The Persona 4 Revival Special Stage welcomed director Daisuke Yajima, along with k4sen and Clutch_Fi, for a live presentation of the remake.

The real news on September 19 appeared during the second half of the demonstration: ATLUS showed a sequence not available in the playable TGS version, featuring Marie and an interaction between her and the protagonist. Persona 4 Revival remains scheduled for release on February 18, 2027. The remake had already been presented at PAX West 2026 with two types of playable demos. This date was known before Day 3 and should therefore not be presented as a new show announcement.

6. Project Zircon: first worldwide gameplay demonstration

Konami devoted a full stage to Project Zircon, a collaborative project launched at TGS 2023. Three years later, producer Shiro performed the new game's first worldwide demo play, as explicitly stated in the show's official program.

The game now takes the form of a strategic roguelike deck-builder. The player leads a nation threatened by the return of the “Calamity Dragon of the Abyss” and must adapt their deck to events, the state of the kingdom and the consequences of their own decisions. The system alternates between strategy and administration phases. The cards used and choices made can open different paths throughout a run, leading to several possible outcomes. This structure gives the project a nation-management dimension that sets it apart from a deck-builder focused purely on combat. The Steam page and wishlists are part of the official TGS communication: the new development on September 19 is therefore the first worldwide gameplay demonstration, not merely the promotion of the Steam page.

7. Koei Tecmo: Dynasty Warriors, Nobunaga and Romance of the Three Kingdoms XV

Dynasty Warriors 3 Remastered will add two-player online play

The Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered stage focused on the Hulao Gate battle, played live with commentary from the development team.

The main announcement came during the presentation: after launch, the game will receive an update adding two-player online multiplayer.

Nobunaga's Ambition: HISHO brings back city development

Koei Tecmo also detailed Nobunaga's Ambition: HISHO. The city-development system is returning, allowing players to organize their castle and surrounding facilities to alter the resources they generate.

The officers' “ideals” system was also detailed: each character has principles that influence how they behave. Koei Tecmo further announced that the band Porno Graffitti will perform the game's main theme.

Romance of the Three Kingdoms XV: development confirmed

The stage celebrating the 40th anniversary of Romance of the Three Kingdoms concluded with a statement from Kou Shibusawa: a fifteenth installment in the series will be made. However, precision is important: this is not yet a full announcement with a trailer, platforms, release window or first images. The most accurate wording is therefore “development confirmed.”

8. Stranger Than Heaven introduces two new characters

Stranger Than Heaven had already occupied a prominent place on TGS 2026 Day 2 with three new sequences. On September 19, however, RGG Studio brought enough new content to justify another entry.

The first sequence introduced Heigo Yashima, played by Akio Otsuka. The character runs the company where the protagonist works and has ties to Orpheus, played by Snoop Dogg. Otsuka therefore recorded some of his dialogue in English. Another video introduced Tetsuya Hama, played by Yasukaze Motomiya and described as an important member of Genzo Iwaki's organization. PRAGMATA × Cup Noodles

Capcom announced a collaboration between PRAGMATA and Nissin Cup Noodles. The precise details of the campaign have not yet been revealed and will be announced later.

Earth Defense Force 6.2 details weapon customization

D3Publisher showed gameplay from Earth Defense Force 6.2: Invaders from Another World. Producer Nobuyuki Okajima highlighted the new system for customizing weapons with parts, which can significantly alter their effectiveness. The game's March 18, 2027 release date was already known, so the Day 3 news mainly concerns how this customization works.

MELTY BLOOD: TWI-LUMINA: around 20 hours for Grand Scenario Mode

A media session held during TGS revealed that the Grand Scenario Mode in MELTY BLOOD: TWI-LUMINA, written by Kinoko Nasu, should provide approximately 20 hours of content. The presentation will alternate between visual-novel-style scenes and sequences closer to an adventure game.

10. Games already shown in previous days: what not to count twice

• Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember: the stage with Otsuichi mainly served to show gameplay and offer playing tips. The March 4, 2027 date and the main information had already been announced.
• Crazy Taxi: World Tour: SEGA organized another demonstration, but the Japan map had already been revealed during TGS 2026 Day 1.
• Lollipop Chainsaw 2 Back2Back: the game itself had already been revealed; the real news on September 19 mainly concerned the announcement of the live-action movie connected to the franchise.
• Total War: Warhammer 40,000: a special stage was held, but no sufficiently major and verified announcement justifies presenting it as a major Day 3 reveal.

11. TGS 2026: September 21 canceled because of Typhoon No. 25

The organizers decided to cancel the entire day of Monday, September 21 because Typhoon No. 25 was approaching. According to CESA, the expected heavy rain and strong winds could disrupt transportation and make it difficult for visitors, exhibitors and staff to return home. Tickets for September 21 are to be refunded. Sunday, September 20 is still scheduled to go ahead as normal, although some facilities or activities may be modified depending on how conditions develop.

12. What ultimately remained online on September 21

Typhoon No. 25 led the organizers to cancel the public opening of Makuhari Messe on Monday, September 21. The physical show therefore ended on Sunday, but several programs remained online under adapted conditions.

Monday notably brought the PC Gaming Show Tokyo Direct, new information on Mega Man: Dual Override and Stranger Than Heaven, as well as the results of Red Bull Revenge. Find all the details in our TGS 2026 Day 5 digital roundup.

The therefore becomes the final physical day of Tokyo Game Show 2026. Koei Tecmo is notably expected to continue its programs around , and , while the other publishers are currently keeping their scheduled stages. Because of Typhoon No. 25 and the cancellation of September 21, Sunday's schedule may still change.
